- The win was especially nice for head coach Shanon Hays, who was coaching on his birthday on Saturday.
- Stephanie Drewry had one of her best games in a Tech uniform, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. The junior had singles in each of her final three at-bats.
- Kermitria Ward picked up her first career save in the outing. Ward picked up a double play thanks to a line drive to Ashley Hamada in right field and finished the game with a groundball out to Logan Hall at second.
- The win was Tech's second over a ranked opponent this week and first all-time over Cal. The Red Raiders came into the game 0-3 all-time against the Bears.
