- The Red Raiders gave head coach Shanon Hays a nice birthday present with a 2-0 day that included a victory over 12th-ranked Cal.
- After throwing 5.2 innings in the night's first game to get the win over Cal, Brittany Talley threw the final 2.2 innings against Indiana to pick up her first career save. The freshman did not allow an earned run in either out on Saturday.
- The Tech pitching staff moved its team earned-run average down to 1.50 after only giving up one earned run over 14 innings Saturday.
- Mikey Kenney finished 2-for-2 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. The sophomore also drew a walk and was hit by a pitch in the game.
- Stephanie Drewry finished the day 4-for-7 at the plate in the two games, giving her at least a hit in each of Tech's last three games.
- Cydney Allen is the only Tech player with at least a hit in every game so far. The junior has had at least two hits in three games so far en route to posting a .571 average at the plate in 14 at-bats.
- The game was the first all-time meeting between the two schools.
