Dowdy Receives Big 12 All Conference Award in Pre-Game Ceremony
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Amanda Dowdy was recognized prior to last Saturday's Lady Raider Basketball game for becoming just the eighth player in school history to join the 1,000 kill club.
Joined on the court by assistant coach Beth Falls, Dowdy was also honored for being a member of the All-Big 12 first team, Tech's first first team selection since 2002. The Lexington, Texas native wrapped the 2010 season with 424 kills, finishing second in the Big 12 in kills per set and fourth for points per set.
Dowdy enters the 2011 season ranked fifth on the school's career kills chart with 1,041, five shy of tying Cristine Martine for fourth all-time. She is also sixth currently with 2,892 career attacks.
