LUBBOCK, Texas - CollegeBaseballInsider.com compiled a survey among Big 12 coaches to rank the top players and coaches in the league based on different categories. Texas Tech sophomores Barrett Barnes and Jamodrick McGruder were among the elite players that received recognition.
Barnes, the 2010 Big 12 Freshman of the Year, was labeled as one of the best three pure hitters, one of the top three biggest power threats and as one of the most underrated hitters.
McGruder, who joined Barnes as a Freshman All-American last season, was tabbed the best base runner in the conference.
