- Until Dana Trotta's double with two outs in the second inning, the Tech pitching staff had gone a school record 11-consecutive innings without allowing a hit. Kelsey Dennis did not allow a hit over the final 4.2 innings of Friday's first game against Howard, while Brittany Talley pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the later game against Dayton. The previous school record was nine-straight innings in 2001.
- The Texas Tech pitching staff has now thrown a shutout in four of its last five outings, dating back to the 8-0 win over Northern Illinois on Feb. 26.
- Mikey Kenney ended her career-high 12 game hit streak as the junior outfielder was 0-for-2 at the plate with a run scored, RBI, and a walk.
- In her two outings this weekend, Kelsey Dennis has pitched 10 shutout innings, allowing only four hits, two walks, and a hit batter. Dennis has not allowed a run over her last 14.2 innings. Her nine strikeouts broke her previous season high of six set just a day ago against Howard.
- Sandy James' two home runs in the game matched her season total coming into the game. The sophomore infielder's three RBIs matched her season high set a few weeks ago on Feb. 20 against Utah Valley.
- Logan Hall extended her hitting streak to six games as the junior went 1-for-2 at the plate with two runs scored and a RBI. Hall has now had at least one RBI in nine of Tech's last 10 games.
- Cydney Allen finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and two RBIs. It marked her seventh multiple-hit game of the year and eighth with multiple-RBIs.
