FIRST PITCH
Texas Tech returns home for the first time in over two weeks opening a six-game homestand, starting with New Mexico for a midweek two-game series, beginning Tuesday with first pitch set for 6 p.m. It will be "Turn Back the Clock Night," as Texas Tech will wear replica uniforms from 1926 - Tech's first season of collegiate varsity baseball. The Red Raiders recently completed a nine-game road trip with a 4-5 record. Texas Tech will look to extend its seven game win streak during midweek competition.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Texas Tech and New Mexico resume their head-to-head series after Tech won both meetings in Albuquerque two weeks ago. The Red Raiders hold a 60-36-1 all-time lead in the series with a 38-16 lead in games played in Lubbock. The series dates back to 1962. The Red Raiders and Lobos have faced off against each other the last 13 years. Tech has won four of the last six and 8 of the last 13 and 16 of the last 22 all-time meetings. Dan Spencer is now 4-3 against the Lobos in three seasons.
