TUCSON, Ariz. - A day before taking the field at the NCAA Tucson Regional, Texas Tech had four softball student-athletes honored Thursday on the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region teams.
Logan Hall led the way for Tech as she was the central region's first team second baseman, her first postseason award this season. The junior, a Tucson, Ariz. native, enters this weekend's regional with a .383 batting average with six home runs and 55 RBI.
Emily Bledsoe, Mikey Kenney, and Cydney Allen completed Tech's selections as all three were honored on the second team. Tech's four selections tied with Oklahoma for the second-most in the region, trailing only Texas' five picks.
Bledsoe led the Tech offense with a .384 average on the year and was a regular on the base paths as she reached base in 51 of 54 games. The junior was also honored earlier this week as an All-Big 12 second team selection.
Kenney and Allen, meanwhile, picked up their first postseason award of the year as Kenney hit .346 year with a Big 12 Conference leading 15 doubles to go along with four home runs and 31 RBI, while Allen bolstered the middle of Tech's lineup with a .375 average 13 home runs and 52 RBI.
The Red Raiders face New Mexico State in the first game of the Tucson Regional Friday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT) at Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium.
