LUBBOCK, Texas - After a successful sophomore season on the links, Texas Tech women's golfer was recently honored on the Capital One Academic All-District team for her work on the course and in the classroom.
Kaufman, a Clark, S.D. native, was selected to the District Six first team for the first time in her career. An Academic All-Big 12 first team recipient as well, Kaufman has recorded a 4.0 GPA over her previous two semesters while majoring in political science.
On the links, Kaufman played a major role in leading the Lady Raiders to their second-consecutive NCAA Regional selection as she posted Tech's second-lowest stroke average at 75.0, while recording two top-five and three top-10 finishes on the year.
First-team Academic All-District recipients advance to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot, where first, second, and third team honorees will be selected in the coming weeks. Nominations and voting for the All-America programs are conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
