DES MOINES, Iowa - The Texas Tech track and field teams saw Omo Osaghae advance to the 110M hurdle final before a weather delay indefinitely suspended the NCAA Outdoor Championships until Friday.
The men's long jump has not been made official due to the meet being suspended. Bryce Lamb is done with jumps and his place is set but not official yet. The women's and men's 4x400M semi-final heats are still to be run. An announcement will be made at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning regarding the NCAA Outdoor Championship schedule
Lamb is currently sitting fifth in the men's long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Lamb improved on three of his four legal jumps. He qualified for the final with a mark of 26'-0" (7.92M).
Lamb took little time to improve in the final as he jumped 26'-2.25" (7.98M) on his first attempt. He saved his best for last. The sophomore on his final attempt set a personal best of 26'-9" (8.15M), which is the second-best jump in school history.
Lamb will earn his first outdoor first-team All-America honor. He is the first outdoor long jump All-American since Tony Walton did it in 1990 and 1991.
Osaghae will compete for the 110M hurdles national title on Saturday after running the fastest semi-final time of 13.32. He won the first heat to grab an automatic spot in the final. The final of the 110M hurdles will be at 1:16 p.m. on Saturday.
