Adeshina wins high jump national title Saturday

Temitope Adeshina claimed her third national title in the high jump and first one outdoors
EUGENE, Ore. – Temitope Adeshina highlighted the final day of the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships winning her third NCAA title in the high jump and first one outdoors, Saturday evening at Hayward Field. In the process, she completes an undefeated season and a sweep of both NCAA indoor and outdoor titles.
The Tech women scored 21 points, finishing 14th to end the season. Full team scores can be viewed HERE.
Adeshina's first miss of the competition came at the final bar of 1.99m (6-6 ¼). Prior to that, the junior had cleared the first six bars. She brings home Tech's first national title in the event outdoors since 2019 when Zarriea Willis won in Austin.

When it comes to history books for the women's team, Adeshina joins the great Sally Kipyego as the only Red Raiders to win at least three NCAA titles. Overall, between the men's and women's teams, Tech has now brought home nine national trophies in the event – Adeshina (three), Trey Culver (two), JaCorian Duffield (two), Willis (two).

The women's 4x100 kicked off the running events for Tech as the quartet of Alyssa Colbert, Olayinka, Anita Afrifa and Mekenze Kelley combined for a time of 43.09 to place eighth. The time puts them No. 7 in school history.
In the 100m hurdles, both Tonie-Ann Forbes and Symora Adkins finished inside the top 5. Forbes went fourth at 12.80 as Adkins placed fifth at 12.82. Tech was the only school to have to hurdlers in the final.

Vanessa Balde capped off the running events for the Red Raiders placing eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.21.

· The runner-up in the 100m hurdles was disqualified (flagrantly impeding), causing everyone else to move up one spot
