"Meet The Two-Deep" is an exclusive daily feature at texastech.com designed to allow Red Raider Nation to connect with this year's football team. The players in this feature made the official "two-deep" following spring practices, which means they will be competing for a starting spot when Texas Tech opens the 2011 football season at home against Texas State on Sept. 3. Check-in each morning at 10 a.m. (CT) on texastech.com and get to know a different member of your Red Raider football team.

What goes through your mind when running onto the field with the team on a gameday?
"More of it is excitement with the crowd screaming, and everyone's hyped and the horse, and just ready to play. That's pretty much it, excitement."
What is your favorite thing about being a Red Raider?
"The locker room, being with the guys all the time. They're kind of my family being away from home. I'm from South Carolina. So it's more the locker room atmosphere, being with the guys."
Is there a motto or phrase you live by?
"Not really a motto or a phrase, just having good morals, being a good guy."
What is your personal goal for this season?
"Probably Big 12 offensive lineman, try to be first team. Not give up any sacks on the quarterback as the center."
Do you have any hidden talents?
"I can play a little bit of guitar, and I can cook pretty well."
Who are some of the major influences in your life, both on and off the field?
"On the field, Nick Mangold, the Jets center, one of the highest paid linemen. And then I'd probably say my dad and my older brother."
What has been the biggest difference for you personally from your first year at Tech to where you are now in your career?
"The biggest difference? Probably how much I've matured over the five years, from coaches back-talking, to being coachable, you know, things like that."
Give your personal message to the Red Raider Nation.
"Wreck em Tech!"
