"Meet The Two-Deep" is an exclusive daily feature at texastech.com designed to allow Red Raider Nation to connect with this year's football team. The players in this feature made the official "two-deep" following spring practices, which means they will be competing for a starting spot when Texas Tech opens the 2011 football season at home against Texas State on Sept. 3. Check-in each morning at 10 a.m. (CT) on texastech.com and get to know a different member of your Red Raider football team.

What goes through your mind when running onto the field with the team on a gameday?
"It is just excitement going through. Really just getting excited. Getting ready to go out there and get a win."
What is your favorite thing about being a Red Raider?
"My favorite thing is just the atmosphere, the family atmosphere here. Everybody knows that football season is a big time of the year and just the excitement around football and the program."
Is there a motto or phrase you live by?
"I would probably say just do work because you have to work hard and go out there and do what you are supposed to do if you want to have success out there on the field."
What is your personal goal for this season?
"My personal goal is to try and help the team get to a good bowl and maybe even a national championship and try to get some Big 12 accolades."
Do you have any hidden talents?
"I don't know of you can say it's a talent but I am pretty good at basketball. I've heard I am pretty good at basketball."
Who are some of the major influences in your life, both on and off the field?
"I would probably say my mother just because she is a single mom and she had to work hard. So, she kind of taught me how to work hard and how to persevere through tough situations."
What has been the biggest difference for you personally from your first year at Tech to where you are now in your career?
"Basically just learning how to work hard and go out there every single day and work hard every day. Really just don't take days off because you know that everybody else is out there working just as hard as you."
Give your personal message to the Red Raider Nation.
"This year we are going to go out there and bust some heads, and I think we are going to surprise a couple of people. Go Red Raiders!"
