Texas Tech will open fall camp on August 6th in Lubbock with the season opener scheduled for Sept. 3 at Jones AT&T Stadium.
2:00pm - One of the most popular questions at Media Day has not been one that the head coach Tommy Tuberville and his players may have anticipated.
With the flurry of interviews taking place inside the lobby and meeting rooms of the Westin Galleria hotel in Dallas, one question has been directed at quarterback Seth Doege more frequently than perhaps any other:
"How do you pronounce your last name?"
At a recent radio interview, Doege admitted that he as been asked around 10 times throughout the day about the correct pronunciation of his unique last name.
"Every time they [the media] have to ask before they go on-air," he told the hosts of 1430AM "The Buzz" of Tulsa, OK, with a laugh.
Doege, along with teammates Mickey Okafor and Cody Davis are in the final stages of Media Day, having met with national and local television stations as well as radio stations and print outlets from across the region.
Meanwhile, head coach Tommy Tuberville will is scheduled to continue meeting with the media until 4:00pm.

12:15 p.m. - The Texas Tech players continued their meetings with the media at The Westin Galleria in Dallas as they sat down to talk with local radio outlets.
Junior safety Cody Davis had time to discuss how he felt the transformation of the new Texas Tech defensive scheme has progressed throughout the spring and summer months.
"This summer we have really worked on building that team mentality," Davis said to reporters. "We are kind of bonding together and pushing for each other."
Davis said the transformation has not been a difficult one, but it is one that will benefit the squad as a whole.
"It's all similar in a way," Davis said. "But it's a whole new scheme and a whole new mindset. You are going to notice more speed out there. That's where we have experience at is [with the] safeties. We are going to have a lot on the field so we will have more speed and will fly around to the ball."
Part of that new mindset has come with the introduction of Chad Glasgow as the new defensive coordinator. Davis said he has already noticed the positive impact Glasgow has had on the program in his short time in Lubbock.
"He's intense," Davis said. "But he always has the best in mind for you and will keep you on the right track."
Players and coaches are now taking a lunch break, but will meet back with the media later in the afternoon. Check back for updates as Media Day in Dallas continues throughout the day.
11:45 a.m. - Following head coach Tommy Tuberville's meeting with the print media, Texas Tech players met next door with television outlets to discuss their thoughts on the Red Raiders' upcoming season.
Seth Doege, Mickey Okafor and Cody Davis sat down with a myriad of reporters and shared their thoughts on the team.
Okafor discussed the changes he has seen in the program since Tuberville took the reins in Lubbock prior to last season and how the team has learned to adapt to the new style and philosophy.
"It's going to be great," Okafor said. "I'm a lot more comfortable. We all know his [Tuberville's] expectations."
Doege meanwhile, fielded questions about the role of starting quarterback, and what he has learned throughout his career as a backup. Doege, who has six games of experience including a start against Kansas in 2009, said he is more comfortable with his role now.
"I wasn't as prepared as I should have been during those games," Doege said. "I have learned a lot about preparing for a game and how much that takes and how much that goes into playing well. I [also learned] to not try and make too much happen...I just tried to make every throw perfect and make too much happen."
Doege also discussed the running back situation, commenting on the athleticism of junior Eric Stephens who received All-Big 12 second team honors last season.
"Eric Stephens is the best athlete on our team right now," Doege said. "We have a lot of depth at that position."
