"Meet The Two-Deep" is an exclusive daily feature at texastech.com designed to allow Red Raider Nation to connect with this year's football team. The players in this feature made the official "two-deep" following spring practices, which means they will be competing for a starting spot when Texas Tech opens the 2011 football season at home against Texas State on Sept. 3. Check-in each morning at 10 a.m. (CT) on texastech.com and get to know a different member of your Red Raider football team.

What goes through your mind when running onto the field with the team on a gameday?
"On gameday it's crazy. I'm just blessed that I get another opportunity to play this game. There's nothing like playing at the Jones. I'm just ready to get strapped up."
What is your favorite thing about being a Red Raider?
"The fans here are crazy. They really show us support. The red and black, I love it. I just felt like I always wanted to be a Red Raider."
Is there a motto or a phrase you live by?
"Yeah, `Play every play like it's your last.'"
What is your personal goal for this season?
"Personal goal? Just to try to lead my team to a BCS championship, maybe lead the team in tackles, just get everyone going, run to the ball, just make plays."
Do you have any hidden talents?
"Yeah, me and my oldest brother, Melvin, can read people's minds with cards. We got a little card trick."
Who are some of the major influences in your life, both on and off the field?
"Major influence is God of course, then my dad, both of my brothers and my mom. I talk to them every day, and they always give me advice about life and football. Anytime I need anything I just look to them for help."
What has been the biggest difference for you personally from your first year at Tech to where you are now in your career?
"Biggest difference? I guess just coming out and working hard every day. At first, I wasn't used to it, but now it's like the motto around here, `Every day, every play' just like Coach Glasgow tells us. So just come out here and give it all every day."
Give your personal message to Red Raider Nation.
"Hey Red Raiders, get your guns up! It's going to be a great season, I hope you're ready!"
