
Tech Cross Country to Run in Austin

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Red Raiders and No. 25 Lady Raiders cross country teams will run Friday, Sept 30 in the Grass Route Run Festival - Grand Prix in Austin, Texas at the Morris William's golf course.
The women come into the race after two-straight team victories. Tech's top four runners have placed in the top four of every race. Rose Tanui has won both races while teammate Caroline Jepleting has placed second in both. Purity Biwott (third) has continued decreasing her time and Devin Bailey has taken big strides this season finishing in fourth in both races.
The Red Raiders had its best meet of the season at the Texas Tech Open placing second as a team. Valentino Julien was the top finisher in 10th followed by Reid Strong in 13th. Brendan Devlin in 18thwas the third Red Raider and Kade Parker finished in 20th to have four in the top 20.
The women will run at 7:30 p.m. and cover six kilometers while the men take the eight kilometer course at 8:15 p.m. Team competing this weekend will be Texas, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Houston, Midwestern, Dallas Baptist, Rice, UT-Arlington and Tarleton State.
