Lady Raiders Remain in Contention at Lady Puerto Rico Classic

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team remained in contention Monday after firing a 10-over card during the second round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic held at the Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Grande.
The performance followed an 8-over 296 card during Sunday's opening round, moving Tech to 18-over for the tournament, nine strokes back of first place Georgia.
LSU sits a stroke back of Georgia at 10-over entering Tuesday's final round, while Oklahoma State and Arkansas both moved into a tie for third at 14-over.
For the second-straight day, Gabby Dominguez led Tech atop the leaderboard as the junior fired a 1-under 71 card that moved her into sixth place.
She sits four strokes back of the tournament leaders of Marta Silva Zamora and Emilie Burger of Georgia along with Purdue's Laura Gonzalez, who shot a tournament-best 65 Monday.
Kim Kaufman provided another solid round as she moved into a tie for 10th overall after recording a 1-over card. Tech's remaining three players Deborah DeVilla, Elin Arvidsson, and Mattie Tobey all finished 5-over on the day.
Arvidsson dropped down the leaderboard into 23rd place, while Tobey is currently tied for 33rd and DeVilla is tied for 58th overall.
The Lady Raiders close the tournament Tuesday morning with a 6:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start. Tech will be paired with Purdue, North Carolina State, and Northwestern during the final 18 holes.
