The meeting was the 24th all-time between the two schools as Tech now holds 13-11 lead in the series. Tech has now won four of the last five contests.
The shutout marked Tech's second of the season as the Red Raiders previously defeated Long Beach State, 2-0, Feb. 17 in Las Vegas.
Tech had shut out Texas State twice previously in the series with the last occurrence coming in a 1-0 victory on March 15, 2007 in the first game of a doubleheader in El Paso.
The shutout also marked the first for Brittany Talley this season and her first since defeating Nebraska, 5-0 on May 1 last year. It was Talley's third total shutout of her career.
Talley also tossed her second-straight complete game as she held DePaul to just one run over seven innings last Sunday in Tech's 2-1 victory. The sophomore has allowed just two runs over her last 21 innings.
The performance also marked the fourth-straight game where a Tech pitcher has thrown a complete game as Cara Custer also has gone the distance in two of those outings.
Raven Richardson hit her second home run of the season with a three-run shot in the fifth inning. The dinger was Richardson's 16th of her career which moves her into sole possession of seventh in the school record book.
The dinger also marked just the third of 13 this year for Tech that was not a solo shot. The only other three-run homer this year came from Sandy James last Saturday against Portland State.
