NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
? Ryan Bustin gave Texas Tech its first points of the game when he connected on a 34-yard field goal on the first possession of the game. The field goal moved him into sole possession of second place on the school's career field goals list.
? Sophomore quarterback Davis Webb moved into the top 10 on Texas Tech's career passing yards list on the first drive of the game. His 63 passing yards on that drive were enough to move him past Ron Reeves (4,688 yards - 1978-81) into sole possession of 10th place on the list (4,957).
? Reginald Davis gave Tech a 10-0 lead with 2:39 to go in the first quarter when he hauled in a 13-yard TD catch from Davis Webb. The TD was his fifth of the season and the eighth of his career.
? Davis Webb's touchdown pass to Reginald Davis in the first quarter gave him 20 for the season to match his season total from a year ago.
? Senior receiver Bradley Marquez has now caught at least one pass in 36 of 38 career games.
? Senior linebacker Sam Eguavoen picked up his first sack of the season (2.5 career) early in the second quarter.
? Marquez gave Texas Tech a 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter when he caught an 8-yard TD pass from Webb. It was his seventh TD of the season and marked a new career high for TD catches in a single season (had six in 2013).

? Bustin added his second field goal of the game on Tech's first drive of the second half. He connected on a 38-yard attempt that gave Tech a 20-7 lead... he now has back-to-back games with multiple field goals (15th career)... Bustin's 45 career field goals rank second in school history (Alex Trlica, 48 - 2004-07).
? J.J. Gaines picked up his second interception of the season (4th career) on Kansas' second drive of the third quarter.
? Freshman receiver Ian Sadler picked up his first career touchdown reception late in the third quarter to give Texas Tech a 27-14 lead. He had 42 receiving yards during the scoring drive.
? Junior lineman Branden Jackson forced a fumble and recovered the fumble to give the Red Raiders the ball back with 9:52 left to play. It marked the second turnover forced by the Tech defense in the game.
? Webb's three touchdown passes gives him 42 for his career which ties him for seventh place in school history with Zebbie Lethridge (42, 1994-97).
? Webb's three touchdowns responsible for gives him 43 for his career moving him past Robert Hall (41, 1990-93) into 10th place in school history.
? Webb now has 14 career games with multiple passing touchdowns (17 career games played).

? Ian Sadler had career highs in both receptions (4) and receiving yards (68).
? Austin Stewart had a season-high nine tackles (six solo)... his career-high is 10 tackles at Oklahoma last season.
TEAM NOTES
? Texas Tech extended its consecutive game scoring streak to 214 games in the first quarter when Ryan Bustin connected on a 34-yard field goal. The streak ranks 13th nationally and is second in the Big 12 behind Kansas State. Of those 214 games, Texas Tech has scored in double digits 200 times.
? Texas Tech scored on its first offensive possession for just the second time this season. The only other game this year that Tech has scored on its opening drive was at Oklahoma State on Sept. 25 (21-yard TD pass from Davis Webb to Reginald Davis).
? Texas Tech held Kansas scoreless in the first quarter and that is a first by the Tech defense since last year's game at Oklahoma (7-0).
? With Ian Sadler's touchdown reception in the third quarter, a total of eight different Red Raiders have caught touchdown passes this season.
? Marks the second straight game that the Red Raiders didn't lose the turnover battle. The last time this happened was last year against Texas State/Kansas.
