
Four Lady Raiders Capture Bracket Singles Titles At Purdue Invitational

Texas Tech freshman Sabrina Federici went 3-0 in singles to capture the Purdue Pete single title at the Purdue Invitational.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Texas Tech women's tennis took three of four singles matches at the Purdue Invitational on Sunday at the Schwartz Tennis Center to close out play in the event.
The Lay Raiders went a combined 14-6 at the three-day event. Tech was 9-3 in singles action, while going 5-3 in doubles.
Freshmen Sabrina Federici, Hortense Boscher and Katelyn Jackson, as well as sophomore Samantha Czarniak Rego each captured at least a share of their bracket titles, including Federici's perfect 3-0 mark to being her collegiate career. Boscher, Jackson and Czarniak Rego each went 2-1.
Federici, Jackson and Czarniak Rego each won in straight sets on Sunday, while Boscher lost a hard-fought, 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 match to Louisville's Cassie Pough.
The Lady Raiders return to action Oct. 17 at the ITA Texas Regionals in Waco, Texas.
