NO. 26 TECH PLAYS FIRST ROAD GAME AT SFA THURSDAY
No. 26 Texas Tech (7-1) takes the road for the first time this season with four straight games away from Lubbock, a stretch that begins Thursday, Feb. 27 at Stephen F. Austin (3-4) in Nacogdoches, Texas, at Jaycees Field for a 12:30 p.m. CT first pitch. The Red Raiders have won seven consecutive games - their longest winning streak since 2007. The Red Raiders swept Oral Roberts in a three-game series in Lubbock last week and are coming off a 4-2 victory over BYU on Monday. Tech opened the season with an eight-game homestand and will now play four straight away from home. Tech heads to SFA for the first time in school history as both all-time meetings (2007) were played in Lubbock. SFA (3-4) nearly pulled off a series win on the road at 21st-ranked Alabama last weekend with a 2-1 win in 13 innings in the series opener and then dropping games two and three, 8-0 and 3-2 (10 inn.). Thursday's contest marks SFA's home opener having played all seven games on the road.
