Jocelyn Caro will attempt to win her third race in as many tries in 2014, at this weekend's Texas A&M Invitational.
LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech Red Raider and Lady Raider cross country teams will travel to College Station, Texas, this Saturday, for the Texas A&M Invitational.
Texas Tech will run against Texas A&M, Baylor, Stephen F. Austin and Houston, among others. Six of the competing schools have their men's and women's teams ranked in their respective regions. The Red Raiders are ranked No. 13 on both sides in the mountain region.
"All of the schools we will face are in the south central region, so it's good for us to get a chance to compete against that region," Texas Tech head coach Jon Murray said. "I expect our teams to go in there and compete to the best of their ability as we continue to train and move toward the postseason."
Saturday's race will be the second race on the Texas A&M Cross Country Course, which was opened this fall.
Texas Tech is coming off sweeping the duals and individual titles at the Red Raider Open, last Friday. Evans Tuitoek took the individual title on the men's side, and Jocelyn Caro won her second race in as many tries in 2014, taking the title on the women's side.
The men's race will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the women's race is scheduled to start at 8:45 a.m.
