Red Raiders Put Together Strong Bronco Invitational

Jocelyn Caro finished in the top five for the seventh time in her Red Raider career.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - The Texas Tech women's cross country team wrapped up their final meet before the conference showdown with two top-10 individual finishes at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, California.
The women's team placed sixth at 177 points, while the men's team finished eighth with 161 points.
Junior Jocelyn Caro notched the team's top time in the women's 6K, placing fourth overall at 20:01.2. It was the 10th time in her career she's finished inside the top 10 and the seventh time to place in the top five of all competitors.
Sophomore Jasmine Torres also finished with a 10th-place mark at 20:37.0. It's the fifth time she's recorded a top 10 finish in her Red Raider career.
Caro and Torres were two of five from Tech's women's team to record seasonal or personal-bests, joined by: Kelly McQuaid (21:51.7), Maggy Mulholland (22:12.4) and Katy Allen (22:15.5).
In his second 8K of the season, sophomore Evans Tuitoek led the Red Raiders with a 15th-place overall finish clocking in at 24:18.3. Sophomore Miguel Bautista, who had the top finish for Tech in the team's first 8K this season two weeks ago, followed closely behind at 24:25.4 behind a top 20 placing.
All of the competitors from the men's team: Tuitoek, Bautista, Ebenether Wondaferew (24:45.3), Joacim Zuniga (25:04.6), Todd Mickey (25.33.3), Clark Blunt (25:34.3) and Kory Mauritsen (25:43.8) recorded personal or seasonal-bests on Saturday at the Bronco Invite.
Up next for the Red Raiders is the 2015 Big 12 Cross country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the OSU Cross Country Couse in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
