Red Raider Cross Country Wraps NCAA Regional

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Texas Tech cross country teams concluded the 2015 campaign at the NCAA Mountain Regional Cross Country Championships on Friday, Nov. 13, at the UNM North Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The men's team finished 12th overall with 343 points, while the women's team placed 16th at 396 points.
Junior Jocelyn Caro paced to the women's squad's best time in the 6K at 21:52.83, finishing 33rd. It was the fourth-straight competition she's recorded the fastest mark in a race for the Red Raiders.
Following Caro was sophomore Jasmine Torres and freshman Hattie Schunk, posting times of 22:37.24 and 22:44.45, respectively. Rounding out the women's team were: Kelly McQuaid (24:07.44), Katy Allen (24:18.77), Maggy Mulholland (24:45.64) and Rianna Randolph (25:13.97).
In the men's 10K, sophomore Miguel Bautista recorded the team's top time at 31:46.26 for a 47th-place finish. The mark improved upon his finish at last year's regional meet, when he finished with a time of 32:59.1. It was also the fourth race this season that he's tallied the team's best time.
Close behind Bautista was sophomore Evans Tuitoek at 52nd with a time of 32:00.53. The other men's team finishers included: Ebenether Wondaferew (32:55.95), Joacim Zuniga (32:57.47), Todd Mickey (33:10.10), Kory Mauritsen (33:34.59) and Clark Blunt (34:09.12).
With the NCAA Cross Country Mountain Regional completed, the Red Raiders will turn their focus to the indoor track & field season, which begins on Jan. 15-16 with the Texas Tech Open in Lubbock, Texas.
