Texas Tech Schedule Changes for Cowgirl Classic

Lea Hopson and the Red Raiders will now open this weekend's Cowgirl Classic with a 12 p.m. first pitch Friday afternoon against Drake as part of a schedule change announced Tuesday.

Drake is a late addition to the Cowgirl Classic field that also features Memphis, Holy Cross and host McNeese State. The Bulldogs will play three total games, one against Tech and two against McNeese State.
The Red Raiders (9-6) were originally scheduled to open the weekend against Memphis in a 3 p.m. first pitch Friday afternoon. Tech will instead face Memphis just once in its originally scheduled 12 p.m. start Saturday afternoon.
The rest of Tech's weekend slate will remain the same as the Red Raiders will take on McNeese State at 6 p.m. Friday and then at 3 p.m. Saturday before closing the tournament with a 10 a.m. start Sunday morning against Holy Cross.
The Red Raiders enter the Cowgirl Classic riding a season-high four game winning streak after going a perfect 4-0 last weekend at the UT Arlington Invitational.
