LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech head cross country coach Jon Murray released the Red Raiders' 2015 schedule on Wednesday.
Texas Tech is scheduled to compete in seven high-quality meets this season.
The Red Raiders begin the slate on Sept. 4, when they host the Texas Tech--New Mexico State--UTEP Triangular, in Ruidoso, N.M. The Lady Raiders swept the event in 2014, and the men went 1-1.
Two weeks later, on Sept. 18, Tech heads down the road to Abilene, Texas, for the ACU Open. From there, Tech will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., on Oct. 3 for the annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, which is always one of the marquee cross country events on the national schedule.
On Oct. 17, the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders will be in Sunnyvale, Calif., for the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, which will serve as the final postseason tune-up before they had to Stillwater, Okla., for the Big 12 Championships, which will take place on Oct. 31.
The postseason will continue in Albuquerque, N.M., on Nov. 13, with the Mountain Region Championships, where junior Jocelyn Caro earned All-Region honors a year ago.
The season comes to a close on Nov. 21, with the NCAA Cross Country Championships, in Louisville, Ky.
The Red Raiders will be led by senior Nick Rivera and junior Evans Tuitoek, who each earned top-50 finishes at the 2014 Big 12 Championships. The Lady Raiders are expected to be paced by Jocelyn Caro, who won two races and finished in the top 30 every time she competed in 2014, including 14th at the Mountain Region Championships.
