
Texas Tech Softball to Offer Fans a Chance to Become Public Address Announcer

Contest allows the public to vote on fan-submitted entries, winner invited to audition with professionals during the team’s 2016 fall exhibition slate.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech softball program is giving fans a chance to be a part of the action as it will host an open competition to be the team's public address announcer.

The contest, which begins today, allows fans to vie for one "Fan's Choice" spot and compete with a select group of professional candidates during the team's 2016 fall exhibition slate.

Fans interested in participating can contact Jena Broyles (jena.broyles@ttu.edu) with Texas Tech Promotions and Fan Engagement to receive instructions on how to submit their audition. The deadline for submission is Sunday, October 16.

Each entry will be posted on social media by Monday, October 17, with a social media poll of the top three candidates to be posted on Wednesday, October 19, to allow fans to vote and decide the winner of the "Fan's Choice" spot.

The "Fan's Choice" will be announced on October 20 and invited to audition for the role of PA announcer during the team's fall schedule. During tryouts, attendees may be asked to read from a prepared script, introduce starting lineups and simulate game situations.

The contest is open to anyone 18 years or older. Prior PA experience is not required. Contestants must be available to work all home games during the 2017 season.
