No. 7 Red Raiders Ready For Tavistock

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 7 Texas Tech men's golf team travels to Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Fla., this weekend to compete in the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational and wrap up the 2016 fall slate.
The first round will tee off on Sunday at 8 a.m., with the second round taking place Monday and the tournament wrapping up on Tuesday. Tech will be part of a 15-team field, which includes top-ranked Illinois, No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Florida, and No. 15 North Carolina.
"Isleworth is a great opportunity for our guys," Texas Tech head coach Greg Sands said. "This is the third tournament in a row where we can test ourselves against some of the best teams in the nation. We think it's really important to put our guys in situations like this because of how it can pay off as we move toward the postseason in the spring. I'm looking forward to seeing them compete in an environment like this."
This weekend, Tech will be represented by Hayden Springer, Ivan Ramirez, Federico Zucchetti, Fredrik Nilehn and Hannes Ronneblad.
A year ago at this tournament, the Red Raiders picked up a solid seventh-place finish, led by a fourth-place individual effort from Ronneblad (-2).
The Red Raiders have moved up to No.7 in the Golfweek Collegiate Team Rankings since placing third in the Paintbrush Intercollegiate last weekend.
