•  Texas Tech's 854 yards of total offense marked its 59th-straight game with at least 325 yards of total offense, the longest active streak in the FBS.
•  Texas Tech has now scored in 239 games dating back to the 1997 season, a streak that ranks 11th nationally and second in the Big 12 Conference.
•  Texas Tech found success on late-down situations throughout tonight's game as the Red Raiders were 20-of-25 on third downs and 2-for-2 on fourth downs. Â

MAHOMES SETS TEXAS TECH SINGLE-GAME RECORD FOR TOTAL OFFENSE
•  Patrick Mahomes II had himself another career night leading the Red Raider offense as the junior signal caller finished 52-of-88 for 734 yards and five touchdowns. It was the fourth time in Mahomes' career where he has passed for over 500 yards in a game and the 19th time where he has thrown for at least 300 yards. In addition, Mahomes also rushed 12 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns.
•  Mahomes' 819 yards of total offense (734 passing, 85 rushing) not only set the Texas Tech single-game record and the Big 12 single-game record but also set the NCAA FBS single-game record. The previous mark for Texas Tech and the Big 12 was previously set by B.J. Symons who had 681 yards of total offense (661 passing, 20 rushing) at Ole Miss on September 27, 2003. The NCAA FBS mark was held by Washington State's Connor Halliday (734 passing, 17 rushing) against California on October 4, 2014.Â
 • Mahomes' career night marked was sparked by a Texas Tech and Big 12 single-game mark of 734 passing yards by a Texas Tech quarterback. The 734 passing yards also tied the NCAA FBS which was previously held by Washington State's Connor Halliday (734 passing, 17 rushing) against California on October 4, 2014. The Texas Tech single-game record of 661 yards was previously set by B.J. Symons at Ole Miss on September 27, 2003.

•  Mahomes found the endzone via the ground for second time tonight and the ninth time this season with 12:57 remaining in the fourth quarter. It was the 19th career rushing touchdown of Mahomes' career, pushing the junior past Ron Reeves (1978-81) for sole possession of second place all-time among Texas Tech quarterbacks. •  Jonathan Giles recorded his fourth 100-yard performance of the season as the sophomore caught 10 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns. Giles entered tonight's game as the Big 12 leader in receiving yards and touchdowns. He now has 917 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns.
•  Da'Leon Ward, making his first career start, found the endzone for the first time in his young career with 7:23 remaining in the first quarter. Ward finished with seven carries for 31 yards and one touchdown while becoming the first Red Raider true freshman running back to make his first career start in a Big 12 game since DeAndre Washington did so against Missouri on November 19, 2011.
•  Clayton Hatfield connected on his 20th career field goal and his sixth of the season with a successful 37-yard attempt with 1:06 remaining in the opening quarter. Hatfield has currently made 87 percent (20-of-23) of his field goal attempts during his Red Raider career.
•  Mason Reed made his way on the stat sheet several times tonight as he caught three passes for 49 yards. He did not have a catch during his Red Raider career coming into tonight's game.
•  Reginald Davis III helped Texas Tech escape a 2nd-and-25 with 9:33 remaining in the third quarter as he hauled in a 32-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes. It marked Davis' first touchdown grab this season and his team-leading 17th of his career.
