At the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, Kyle Thompson posted a career-best in the men's pole vault. He would set two PR's, first clearing 5.32m/17-5.5 on his third attempt, then successfully making it over 5.42m/17-9.25, also on his third jump to earn a second-place finish.
The mark was the fourth-best clearance in school history and put him at No. 10 in the NCAA this season. He also sits at half an inch behind the Big 12 leader at 5.43m/17-9.75.
