• Snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Red Raiders in Big 12 Championship opening round games.

• Improved the Red Raiders to 37-26-1 all-time against Kansas State.

TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
• Texas Tech's victory over Kansas State marked the first time the Red Raiders had won their opening-round game of the Big 12 Championship since defeating Nebraska, 5-3, in 2005.
• Texas Tech has now won nine of its last 10 games against Kansas State dating back to the 2014 season.
• Texas Tech overcame a four-run deficit to top the Wildcats, its largest ever in a win at the Big 12 Championship. The Red Raiders previously rallied from three runs down to top No. 12 Oklahoma State in the Big 12's inaugural 1997 tournament.
• Texas Tech totaled 17 hits in the win, one shy of its season high. The Red Raiders finished two hits shy of matching the school record for a Big 12 Championship game.
• Texas Tech had six different players record a multi-hit game, its most since seven Red Raiders recorded at least two hits on Feb. 21 this year against Milwaukee.
• Texas Tech rallied from a four-run deficit for the third time this season as the Red Raiders previously overcame five-run leads against both Oklahoma (March 26) and Texas (April 22).
• Texas Tech's eight runs marked its most in a Big 12 Championship opening round game since 2001 when the Red Raiders routed Oklahoma, 17-5.
• This is the 35th time this season where Texas Tech has scored six or more runs. The Red Raiders are now 31-4 in those games.
• Texas Tech is now 17-2 against Big 12 foes this season when scoring at least five runs.
• Hayden Howard's save marked the 18th this season for the Texas Tech pitching staff, one shy of the single-season school record from 2010.
• Texas Tech is now 34-2 this season when holding its opponent to five or less runs.
• The Texas Tech bullpen tossed five shutout innings, allowing just a hit and a walk during that time.
Tim Tadlock
• Improved to 143-89 at Texas Tech with the win.
• Improved to 578-216 as a collegiate head coach (Grayson J.C., Texas Tech)
• Improved to 3-6 all-time at the Big 12 Championship.
• Improved to 9-5 all-time against Kansas State.
• Improved to 123-3 when leading after eight innings.
• Posted the 57th come-from-behind victory of his tenure.
Michael Davis
• Finished 2-for-4 for his 18th multi-hit game this season and first since a similar 2-for-4 performance on April 19 at New Mexico.
• Connected on his Big 12 leading 20th double of the season with a two-out shot to the gap in left center during the fourth inning.
Robert Dugger
• Picked up his fifth win of the season after tossing five shutout innings. His five wins now rank fourth on the team behind Davis Martin (8), Hayden Howard (8) and Ryan Moseley (6). His 1.95 ERA is the lowest on the team.
Tyler Floyd
• Matched his season high with three hits, finishing 3-for-5 overall from the No. 2 spot in the lineup. He also had three hits on April 8 at Oklahoma State.
• Hit in the No. 2 hole in the lineup for the first time this season and the sixth time in his career.
Eric Gutierrez
• Recorded his Big 12 leading 15th multi-RBI performance this season after finishing 1-for-3 with two RBI. He had a RBI single in Texas Tech's three-run fifth inning and then a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
• His two RBI give him 186 now for his career, six shy of tying Mike Humphreys (1985-88) for third place all-time in the Texas Tech record book.
Hunter Hargrove
• Matched his career high with three RBI in the win. He previously recorded three RBI just last Friday in Texas Tech's win over West Virginia.
• Recorded his third multi-hit game of the year and third multi-RBI performance after finishing 2-for-4 overall with three RBI.
Hayden Howard
• Recorded his team-leading seventh save of the season after tossing 1.2 shutout innings out of the bullpen. His seven saves are now tied for sixth all-time in the Texas Tech single-season record book.
Parker Mushinski
• Has now failed to allow an earned run in 16 of his 17 appearances this season after tossing a scoreless inning of relief.
Tyler Neslony
• Finished 3-for-5 overall with a pair of doubles for his 15th multi-hit game this season. It is the seventh time this season where he has recorded three or more hits.
• Matched the Texas Tech school record for most doubles in a Big 12 Championship game. It is the seventh time a Red Raider has hit two doubles in the tournament as Neslony was the most recent player to do so (vs. Baylor - May 22, 2015).
• Moved into a tie for seventh all-time at Texas Tech with 49 doubles over his career. He passed both Taylor Ashby (2007-10) and Keith Ginter (1997-8) and is now tied with Bryant Burleson (2012-15).
Cory Raley
• Recorded his 22nd multi-hit game of the season after finishing 2-for-4 overall with a pair of RBI. He is now tied with Tanner Gardner for the team high in multi-hit games.
• Totaled at least two RBI for the 13th time this season, two shy of Eric Gutierrez for the team high.
Stephen Smith
• Notched his 17th multi-hit game of the season after going 3-for-4 with two runs scored at the top of the lineup. It was the ninth time this season where he has connected on three or more hits.
