Texas Tech will host Oregon in 2023 to begin a home-and-home series against the Ducks
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech and Oregon have agreed on a two-game, home-and-home football series that will bring the Ducks to Lubbock in 2023 and then send the Red Raiders to Eugene the following season.
Â
Texas Tech will host Oregon, a regular contender for the Pac-12 Conference title, on Sept. 9, 2023, before traveling to Eugene to complete the series on Sept. 7, 2024.
Â
The Red Raiders have previously faced Oregon twice in school history as the two teams played a home-and-home series during the 1991 and 1992 seasons. The Ducks won both meetings with a 28-13 victory during the 1991 contest in Lubbock and then a 16-13 win the following year in Eugene.
Â
The Oregon series is the third scheduled by Texas Tech against a Pac-12 opponent in recent years as the Red Raiders will open a home-and-home slate against Arizona State this season before facing Arizona during the 2019 and 2020 campaigns.
Â
The start of the Arizona State series begins a nine-year stretch where Texas Tech will play seven non-conference games against a member of a power-five conference. The Red Raiders are also slated to begin a two-game series against N.C. State in 2022.
Â
In addition, Texas Tech has also scheduled non-conference games against the likes of Eastern Washington (2017), Houston (2017-18, 2021-22), Montana State (2019), UTEP (2019-20), Wyoming (2020, 2023) and Colorado State (2025-26).
Â
The Red Raiders open the 2016 season on Sept. 3 when Texas Tech hosts Stephen F. Austin inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Net.
