Â
SETTING THE RANDAL TYSON STAGE
The Randal Tyson Track Center seems to be a facility in which many Red Raiders have achieved some of their top indoor marks. Nine first place finishes took place last year at the Arkansas Invitational, six of which were claimed by returners on this year's team. Charles Brown, Brandon Bray, Trey Culver, C.J. Jones and Viershanie Latham secured the individual first-place finishes while C.J. Jones, and Darien Tennon were part of the first-place finishing 4x400 men's relay. The lone indoor All-Time Big 12 Champion Red Raider returner is jumper Viershanie Latham, who holds the triple jump school record of 13.31/43'-8" secured last year in Fayetteville at the Tyson Invitational. Latham also took the No. 1 triple jump spot at the Arkansas Invitational the same year. Charles Brown holds his indoor triple jump (15.38m/50-5.5) and long jump (7.55m/24-9.25) personal records at the Randal Tyson Track Center, both of which he will push to break during the 2017 indoor season. Todd Mickey recorded a personal-best indoor 1000m run with a time of 2:29.93 at last year's Arkansas Invitational. Vincent Crisp wrangled an indoor personal-record 2:27.07 1000m run. Erin Lopez pulled in his top-two indoor marks in the 60H (8.84) and the long jump (6.95m/22-9.75). Kyle Collins ran the 600m in an indoor personal-record time of 1:19.24. Darien Tennon pushed for a personal-best time of 7.94 in the indoor 60H. Andrew Hudson also holds his top indoor performances in the 60m (6.76) and 200m (21.23) in Fayetteville.
Â
After the Arkansas Invitational, the Red Raiders will head back to their home state for a meet in College Station, Texas to compete in the A&M Invitational set to begin Saturday, January 21.Â
