Recap: Texas Tech Track & Field at Arkansas Invitational

19 personal-best marks were made by the Red Raiders in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech track & field showed a strong presence this afternoon at the Randal Tyson Track Center, as they achieved 23 top-three finishes and 19 personal records.
Sophomore Andrew Hudson was a huge leader for the Red Raiders today as he snagged the No. 2 time in the world in the 200-meter dash so far this year at 20.80(PR). The mark also made him the NCAA 200m leader and is second in the Texas Tech indoor record book. Hudson also finished first in the 60m dash running the race in a personal-best time of 6.68, a time that locks up the No. 5 spot in Texas Tech records.
Junior Miguel Bautista also had an impressive personal-best mile today in which he finished second overall in 4:06.61, improving his time by 10 seconds from his performance at the Big 12 Championships in 2015.
The women's 4x400 team with senior Marika Brown, sophomore Sara Limp, senior Adria Parker and sophomore Maygen Smith fell just behind the Arkansas relay team by less than a tenth of a second, completing the run in 3:43.17 to give them the No. 2 spot.
The men's 4x400 also came in a close second in a time of 3:10.09 with junior Steven Champlin running anchor on the relay, nearly closing the gap enough to secure the win.
Junior high jumper Trey Culver recorded a first-place mark as he cleared 2.21m/7-3, which put him in the top-five in the world this season.
Sophomore Kaylee Hinton was another Red Raider leader today finishing second in the 60H in 8.60 as well as third in the long jump (5.90/19-4.25).
Next on the schedule: Texas Tech track & field will travel to College Station, Texas next weekend to participate in the A&M Invitational beginning Saturday, January 21.
