Texas Tech Men Maintain Top-15 Ranking

Andrew Hudson currently holds top-20 national rankings in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 4x400 relay.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's track and field team is now ranked No. 14 in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings.
Currently, the men's team has a combined five world leading positions, eight top-25 national rankings and 25 top-15 conference rankings.
Attributing to the globally leading positions are: Andrew Hudson in the 200-meter dash, Kyle Collins in the 400-meter dash, Trey Culver in the high jump, Charles Brown in the long jump and the men's 4x400 relay (Steven Champlin, Kyle Collins, Vincent Crisp and Andrew Hudson).
Last weekend at the Adidas Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska, Andrew Hudson matched his personal-best 60-meter time of 6.68, keeping his No. 20 rank in the NCAA. Finishing in close second was teammate Trevin Chambers who secured a personal-record run of 6.78.
Kyle Collins paced a 21.37 200-meter race to capture the No. 4 spot in the Big 12 Conference.
Sophomore Charles Brown also pushed for a win in the high jump, clearing his final bar of 2.14m/7-0.25, allowing him third place in the conference.
Competing in the 60-meter hurdles was Darien Tennon who finished first in both the preliminary and final rounds with a fastest time of 7.98.
Steven Champlin made his season debut in the 400-meter race finishing in 47.80, which earned him second-place at the meet.
The team will travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, this weekend to compete in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic meet set to begin Friday at 4 p.m.
