Angyalosy, Jackson Have Perfect Doubles Day at KU Invite

Lana Rush secured a singles victory for the Lady Raiders on Friday.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Texas Tech women's tennis team completed its first round of action at the Kansas Invitational on Friday at the Jayhawk Tennis Center on the KU campus.
Alex Angyalosy and Katelyn Jackson captured a pair of doubles wins on the afternoon, most notably an 8-4 victory over No. 50 Desponia Vogasari and Tatiana Nikoleava. They also edged Maryland's Arnelle Sullivan and Mille Stretton by a 7-6 (5) margin. Alex Valenstein and Lana Rush also knocked off Miki Kobayashi and Vanessa Wong 6-4 in doubles.
In singles, Rush notched the lone singles victory on the day. She outlasted Auburn's Madeline Meredith with a hard-fought 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3 decision. Valenstein put up a valiant effort against No. 60 Taylor Russo of Auburn before she fell by a 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7) score line.
