Maltby and Talaba to represent Texas Tech in singles main draw starting Thursday

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Junior Felicity Maltby earned a spot in the main draw of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships with a win in the final match of qualifying singles.

Maltby entered the day needing one win to reach the main draw after winning two matches during qualifying matches on Tuesday. She defeated Syracuse's Gabriela Knutson (6-0, 7-5) in straight sets to clinch her spot in the main draw.

Maltby joins No. 2 seed Gabriela Talaba in the main draw, which begins play on Thursday. No. 7 seeded doubles pair Sabrina Federici and Sarah Dvorak also begin main draw doubles play tomorrow.

In doubles play, Maltby and Talaba took down Virginia Tech, 8-4, to close out the qualifying doubles consolation bracket.
