Three Women’s Tennis Players Advance to Semifinals

Gabriela Talaba, Sarah Dvorak, Sabrina Federici become first Lady Raiders to make ITA All-American Semis
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Three Lady Raiders Tennis seniors captured wins during Day Two of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships to advances to the semifinal round.
Senior Gabriela Talaba posted a 2-0 record on Friday defeating Julia O'Loughlin (Denver) and Stacey Fung (Washington) in straight sets.
She is set to face Vanderbilt's Fernanda Contreras tomorrow in the semifinals after 1 p.m. (CT). Talaba becomes the first Lady Raider in school history to advance to the singles main draw semifinals. Contreras is one of two qualifiers still in the tournament.
Felicity Maltby fell to Aliona Bolsova (FAU) in the Round of 16 on Friday afternoon, ending her run at the All-American tournament.
In doubles action, seniors Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici captured an 8-3 victory over Auburn's Alizee Michaud and Taylor Russo to advance to the semifinals. The pair becomes the first doubles team to make it to the semifinals in school history.
The two are set to face Samantha Harris and Kelly Chen of Duke in the semifinals on Saturday after 3 p.m.
