SATURDAY STORYLINES
- Texas Tech will be looking to become bowl eligible over the final two games of the regular season as the Red Raiders close the year against TCU (8-2) and then at Texas (5-5). The Red Raiders are looking to advance to their 38th bowl in program history as Texas Tech ranks 20th nationally in total bowl appearances.
- To do so, Texas Tech will need to secure its first win over a ranked opponent since the end of the 2013 season when the Red Raiders topped No. 16 Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl. The Red Raiders also topped a 24th-ranked TCU that season in Lubbock.
- After forcing four turnovers last weekend against Baylor, the Red Raiders are now the Big 12 leader in turnovers gained as Texas Tech has totaled 22 takeaways this season. Tech ranks eighth nationally in the category and second among power-five teams entering this weekend.
- Texas Tech is now plus-10 in the turnover margin, which ranks 10th nationally and first in the Big 12. The Red Raiders, who have recorded at least one turnover in all 10 games this year, are closing in on the single-season school record of plus-12, which was set during the 1991, 1993 and 1997 campaigns.
- Texas Tech will honor its 16 seniors prior to kickoff Saturday as it will be Senior Day at Jones AT&T Stadium. The list of seniors includes 10 Red Raiders who have spent their entire career in Lubbock - Zach Austin, Zach Barnes, Cameron Batson, Dylan Cantrell, Kyle Heffron, Ja'Deion High, Tony Morales, Talor Nunez, Justin Stockton and Caleb Woodward.
- In addition, six other Red Raiders have transfered to Texas Tech during their college career - Jajuan Dulaney, Dwayne Johnson Jr., Nic Shimonek, Mychealon Thomas, Trevor Walker and Derrick Willies.

- The Red Raiders have controlled the series in Lubbock with a 19-7-3 all-time advantage over the Horned Frogs. Texas Tech has won four of the last five meetings at Jones AT&T Stadium dating back to the 1993 season. The lone loss in that span came in TCU's last visit to Lubbock which via a 55-52 victory in 2015.
- Texas Tech will play in its seventh 11 a.m. CT start this season Saturday as the Red Raiders are 3-3 so far this year in such games. The Red Raiders have had a morning kickoff in five of their last six games entering this weekend.
- Playing on Nov. 18 has traditionally been favorable for the Red Raiders, who are 9-2 all-time on the date heading into this weekend. Texas Tech is a perfect 5-0 all-time when playing at home on the date.
