Â
SENIOR CLASS TO BE RECOGNIZED PRIOR TO KICKOFF
Texas Tech will honor its senior class prior to kickoff as 16 Red Raiders will be recognized along with their families. The Senior Day ceremony will begin at 10:40 a.m. Saturday prior to kickoff.
Â
STUDENTS: SHOW UP FOR CHANCE TO WIN A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER
Texas Tech students will have an opportunity to win a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander courtesy of the Reagor-Dykes Auto Group by cheering on the Red Raiders. Students will be automatically entered into the drawing by swiping their Texas Tech ID at the student entrance, which is located at the southeast corner of Jones AT&T Stadium. One student will be randomly chosen to win the vehicle at the start of the fourth quarter (must be present to win).
Â
BATTLE FOR THE SADDLE
Texas Tech and TCU will renew their battle for the Saddle Trophy on Saturday as both schools announced earlier this week that the trophy would return after a 40-plus year absence. Tech and TCU played for the Saddle Trophy from 1961-70 before it suddenly disappeared. The winning team will be awarded the Saddle Trophy each year moving forward.
Â
LUBBOCK MUNICIPAL COLISEUM TO BE USED IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER
In cases of inclement weather, Texas Tech advises fans in the tailgate areas to take shelter inside the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. The coliseum will open in case of inclement weather for every home game this season. Fans should stay tuned in to Double T 97.3 FM on the radio and @TechAthletics on Twitter for weather updates, if needed. As a reminder, umbrellas are not permitted inside Jones AT&T Stadium.
Â
CATCH THE RED RAIDERS ON THEIR WAY TO WARMUPSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Texas Tech fans might have noticed during the Eastern Washington game that the Red Raiders took a different path to their gameday locker room. Beginning roughly 85 minutes to kickoff, Tech will transition from its locker room inside the Football Training Facility to the one inside Jones AT&T Stadium as the Red Raiders will walk through the Sports Performance Center and enter the stadium through the doors directly under the Double T scoreboard. Fans are encouraged to greet the Red Raiders as they had to the stadium beginning around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Â
HALFTIME SHORTENED DUE TO NEW NCAA RULES
Fans returning to the tailgate areas during the game should be aware that halftime will be shorter moving forward than in years past. The referee will start the 20-minute clock shortly after the final play has concluded, signaling the start of halftime. The referee had previously waited until both teams cleared the field.
Â
RED RAIDER EXPERIENCE
Want to watch pregame warmups from the sidelines or maybe take a pregame photo on the field? These options are available through the Texas Tech Experience app, which allows fans to purchase various upgrades straight from their mobile device.
Â
