Lady Raiders Host St. Edward's in Exhibition Sunday

Texas Tech takes on St. Edward's Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Lady Raider Basketball begins play with an exhibition game as they host St. Edward's University Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena.

Admission is free to the public. As a reminder, the clear bag policy is in effect for all Lady Raider Basketball games for the 2017-18 season. For more information on the clear bag policy, Click Here.

The Lady Raiders are 37-6 all time in exhibition games. This is the first time that Texas Tech will face St. Edward's University.

Texas Tech begins its fifth season under Head Coach Candi Whitaker. The Lady Raiders return eight while welcoming six newcomers to the court. Transfer Erin Degrate will see the court after sitting out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Freshmen Lyndsey Whilby and Angel Hayden and sophomore Lauren Harrison join the Lady Raiders and will have an immediate effect on the team's play.Â

- Hilltopper forward Abby Hopper returns home Sunday. The junior attended Frenship High School just minutes outside of Lubbock.

- Caldwell is one of two returners who earned All-Big 12 honors for the 2016-17 season. Caldwell received All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors while forward Brittany Brewer was named to the All-Freshman Team.
- Center Erin Degrate joins the Lady Raiders on the court after sitting out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA Transfer rules. Degrate came to Lubbock from Louisville where she played in 28 games during her freshman season.
- The Lady Raiders also welcomed two freshmen to the 2017-18 squad. Lyndsey Whilby, a 5-11 wing out of Powder Springs, Ga., and Angel Hayden, a 5-6 point guard from Canyon, Texas, were both ranked in the top 30 in the nation for their positions.
