Men's Team Slides to No. 16 in Weekly Ranking

The Red Raiders will head to Ames, Iowa this weekend for the 2017 Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship.
LUBBOCK, Texas –Texas Tech men's track & field has moved to No. 16 in this week's U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings.

The team did not compete this past weekend as they used the time to prepare for the upcoming Big 12 Championship.

There are currently 16 top-five positions held by Red Raiders in conference standings within their respective events.

Miguel Bautisita, Trey Culver and Andrew Hudson all three hold conference leading positions. Bautista paced an impressive 13:58.17 5000-meter race while in Ames for the Iowa State Classic. The No. 1 high jump spot is held by Culver, who matched his personal-best bar of 2.23m/7-3.75 at the New Mexico Classic. Hudson maintains his first-place hold on the 200-meter dash with his season opening sprint of 20.80, which he matched while at the New Mexico Classic.

Also holding top-five marks are: Kyle Collins, Vincent Crisp, C.J. Jones, Darien Tennon, Charles Brown, Justin Hall and the Men's 4x400 relay.
