T&F Men Move Back Up to Number 12

Sophomore Charles Brown attributes to this week’s upward movement in the USTFCCCA ranking.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech men's track & field are ranked No. 12 in this week's USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) computer rankings.
This past weekend at the ABQ Convention Center, Trey Culver and Charles Brown made large strides in the men's high jump while competing against Red Raider Olympian, Bradley Adkins.
Culver matched his NCAA Indoor Championship jump of 2.23m/7-3.75 which stands as his indoor personal-best. This bar sends Culver to the No. 1 spot in the Big 12, No. 2 in the NCAA and No. 20 in the world.
Brown improved his vertical mark from 2.14m/7-0.25 at the Adidas Classic to a lifetime best jump of 2.20m/7-2.50 ranking him 10th in the NCAA. Brown also notched another personal best in the triple jump, clearing 15.80m/51-10 to place fourth in the conference.
Darien Tennon finished second overall in the men's 60-meter hurdles this weekend. His 7.94 time, converted to 7.96 with altitude, matches his personal best and ranks him fourth in the conference.
Andrew Hudson met his personal-best time of 20.80 in the 200-meter dash earning second in the meet. This mark currently stands as the 12th ranked time in the world. Hudson also ran three 60-meter sprint times (preliminary, semifinal and final) qualifying as top marks in the Texas Tech indoor record book.
Vincent Crisp paced a 600-meter time of 1:17.60, converted to a 1:09.29 600-yard run that ranks him third in the Big 12.
This weekend the team will split to travel to the Dunamis Collegiate Classic (Dallas, Texas), Iowa State Classic (Ames, Iowa) and Tyson Invitational (Fayetteville, Arkansas) beginning Thursday, February 9th. Â
