Texas Tech Wraps Day One of Texas Relays

Ivan Santiago-Bravo led the Red Raider front with his second-place javelin throw.

AUSTIN, Texas – Nine Red Raiders competed in today's Texas Relay competition at the Mike A. Myers Stadium.

A second-place finishing throw of 62.03m/203-6 was claimed by Ivan Santiago-Bravo. This personal-best mark was achieved on the first throw of the day in section b.

Darien Tennon finished seventh in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a qualifying time of 51.26. Following Tennon was Caleb Richmond with a 52.40 run and Ardran Carr clocking a 54.39 run.

Mackenzie Frank and Kirsten Johnson also made 400-meter hurdle runs with times of 1:00.83 and 1:01.98 respectively.

Drew McMichael finished tied for fifth in the men's pole vault section c with his 5.06m/16-7.25 clearance.

The night concluded with Jasmine Torres' 1500-meter run time of 4:46.53 for eleventh place.

Texas Relays will continue tomorrow morning with a 9 a.m. start in the men's discus and 9:35 a.m. start for the women's 4x100 relay.
