No. 7 Red Raiders Ready To Tee Off In Las Vegas

Texs Tech is set to play in the Southern Highland Collegiate, Monday-Wednesday
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The No. 7 Texas Tech men's golf team will head to Las Vegas this week, March 6-8, to compete in the 2017 Southern Highlands Collegiate, at the Southern Highlands Golf Club.
The No. 7 Red Raiders are one of nine top-25 teams to compete at the tournament, and one of six top-10 teams, according to the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. Two opponents are Big 12 competitors No. 6 Oklahoma State and No. 11 Oklahoma.
The Red Raiders are fresh off of a doubleheader at the Wyoming Desert Classic and The Prestige, where they brought home team third and fourth-place finishes, respectively. Four Red Raiders are still ranked among the nation's top 100 collegiate players, according to Golfweek. They are: Fredrik Nilehn (35), Federico Zucchetti (70), Hannes Ronneblad (79) and Ivan Ramirez (95)
Last year, at the 2016 Southern Highlands Collegiate, Tech took sixth place, defeating eight teams ranked above it in Golfstat. Ivan Ramirez (+2) and Wes Artac (+2) tied for eighth to lead the way.
