Texas Tech set for Hawkeye Invitational
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 11 Texas Tech men's golf team will wrap up the regular season this weekend with the Hawkeye Invitational, April 16-17, in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Red Raiders will compete at Finkbine Golf Course, a 7,186-yard, par-72 track, which will also host Kansas, Nebraska, San Jose State, Iowa State, Kansas State and host Iowa, among others this weekend.
The No. 11 Red Raiders are the highest-ranked team in the field, coming off a weather-shortened eighth-place finish at the Aggie Invitational, their first non-top-four finish this spring.
Tech will be represented by European Palmer Cup honorees Hannes Ronneblad and Fredrik Nilehn, as well as Ivan Ramirez, Federico Zucchetti and Hurly Long. Sandy Scott and Hayden Springer will compete as individuals.
Tech enters this weekend with four players currently averaging par or better, and all four are ranked in the Golfstat national top 100. The Red Raiders also have picked up top-five finishes from six different players this season.
Tee times for tomorrow morning's opening round are to be announced, but will be available on Golfstat.com once finalized, where fans can also follow along with live scoring.
