Player's Blog: The Last Inning
April 20, 2017 | Softball

Forty games are in our rearview mirror while only twelve in the regular season lies ahead. Where has the season gone? In a blink of an eye, here we are in the middle of April. Wow, I truly cannot believe it.
For many of us, these last few weeks will be our last. Our last to lace up our cleats, our last to tighten our bows, and our last to just go out and compete in ways we will never have the opportunity to do so again. For others, it is the end of another chapter of softball and one year closer to the season of lasts. No matter what these next few weeks bring, we all have something to prove. To our families, to our coaches, and to our university, we must prove that our passion and love for the game of softball far outweighs any obstacles that could come our way. We have fought thus far and will continue to fight until the last pitch is thrown.
Throughout the season, we have been tried and have succeeded as well as failed. These next few weeks will challenge us in a way we have not been challenged yet. Our passion and love for the game must overcome all of the obstacles we will face in order to find success and finish the season strong.
As we travel to Oklahoma State this weekend, we are pumped and thrilled to go into their house and take some wins, three to be exact, just as we did last year (and the year before). Oh I am sure vengeance is on the top of their minds as we swept them opening weekend of Big 12 play last year and we are ready to disappoint them once again.
This will be our weekend to play with our hearts on our sleeve and show our love and passion for a game that has given us so much. No matter what trials come our way this weekend, we will leave all of it on the field because before we know it, one game will be our last.
