Texas Tech took part in the opening day of Big 12 Media Days Tuesday at The Star in Frisco
FRISCO, Texas – Just two weeks from the start of preseason practices, Texas Tech previewed the 2017 season in front of the lights and cameras of the national media Monday afternoon at Big 12 Media Day, which was held this year inside the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury and his player delegation of seniors Cameron Batson and Dylan Cantrell as well as juniors Keke Coutee and Jah'Shawn Johnson relished the spotlight for one day as the group met with the likes of CBS Sports, ESPN, FOX Sports, Sirius XM among a jam-packed day filled with questions on the 2017 season.
"I thought our players represented Texas Tech and their teammates tremendously today," Kingsbury said. "Media Day essentially kicks off the season for us, so we're ready to get started here in a couple weeks."
For Tech fans wanting a behind-the-scenes view at the Red Raiders' day, check out all the program's social media accounts - @TexasTechFB on Twitter, TexasTech_FB on Instagram and TexasTech_FB on Snapchat. Coutee maintained the Snapchat account for most of the day, providing a significant look behind the curtain as the Red Raiders made their way from room to room.
More coverage from Big 12 Media Day will continue Tuesday when mic'd up segments featuring both Cantrell and Johnson debut on social media as well as TexasTech.com. Johnson caught the media's attention late in the day with his "bingo" card that drew the attention from the likes of Yahoo, ESPN and USA Today among others.
