Lady Raiders Open TCU Invite with Eight Wins

Newcomers show out on opening day of tournament

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Tech Women's Tennis team picked up four singles wins and four doubles wins to open the first day of the Big 5 Challenge hosted by TCU.

Freshman Alex Angyalosy earned two wins against Virginia and South Carolina opponents. In her final match of the day, Angyalosy made the comeback with a 6-0 win in set two and a 10-3 tiebreak.

Juniors Alex Valenstein and Lana Rush teamed up to capture two 6-1 wins over Virginia and South Carolina in doubles action.

The Lady Raiders will continue play Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
