Red Raiders Split on Second Day of Big 12 Match Play Tournament

HOCKLEY, Texas – The Texas Tech men's golf team secured a 4-1-1 win over West Virginia in its first Big 12 Match Play Tournament pairing on Saturday but would fall 4-2 to TCU in the afternoon match at the Club at Houston Oaks.
The Red Raiders are now 1-3 in the inaugural match-play event that will be completed on Sunday.
Sandy Scott opened his day with a 4&3 win over his opponent after being Up 2 thru nine, while Kyle Hogan was a 1UP winner in a match that was all-square through nine. Andy Lopez, who was up 5 thru nine, went on to secure a 4&3 win and Adam Blomme was a 6&4 winner in the match against WVU after being up four midway through the round.
Blomme was up three after nine and earned a 4&3 win over Alejandro Aguilera, while Ivan Ramirez overcame a two-stroke deficit midway through his round to take a 2&1 decision over Pierre Mazier for the two Red Raider wins over the Horned Frogs.
Braadlie, who was down two thru nine, fell 5&3 and Lopez fell 5&4, Hogan lost 4&2 and Scott saw David Ravetto claim a 2UP decision.
