No. 10 Tech Jumps four spots on day two in Vegas

Hurly Long remains in the top 15 through 36 holes
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The No. 10 Texas Tech men's golf team went 1-under par on a tough day for scoring and jumped four places in round two of the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Tuesday, in Las Vegas.
The Red Raiders shot a 1-under 287, just one of four teams in the 15-team field, which has 11 team ranked in Golfstat's top 40, to end the second round in the red, just three shots off the best team round of the day.
After today's round, Tech has closed the gap on the leaders, now sitting just seven shots off the lead in seventh place, and four shots out of fourth place.
Hurly Long continues to pace the Red Raiders overall. His 75 on Tuesday slid him into a tie for 15th, individually.
Sandy Scott rebounded nicely from Monday's 81 with a 2-under 70, carding five birdies along the way.
Scott (+7) is tied for 57th.
Joining Scott in the red was Ivan Ramirez, who also shot a 70. Ramirez's card was nearly flawless, suffering just one bogey, a five on the par-4 10th. He logged a birdie on hole No. 4 and finished his first half of the day with an eagle 3 on the par-5 18.
Adam Blomme went even-par for the day, remaining at +5 for the tournament, in a tie for 47th.
Fredrik Nilehn joined Long in shooting a 3-over 75. Nilehn carded three birdies on the day, but also had a setback at the par-5 18th, registering a double-bogey 7.
Tech will begin the final round Wednesday morning, with play beginning at 11 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
